No Implication of Criticism of Merit?

I'm on the road for my day job today...no time to comment except to say this: Why so formal, Antioch Review?

Pg 61 of this month's Poets & Writers mention LROD. In the Daren Strauss interview.

I am so sick of Darin Strauss. Can't he just get over it already?

I like the Antioch Review, but I just have to say that I got this same form rejection more than 6 months after my submission. Unusual? No, except they don't accept simultaneous submissions. I'm sorry, but if you routinely sit on things for 6 months and then send form rejections (as, according to Duotrope, they do) don't be shocked if writers are actually submitting to you simultaneously.

don't you think most writers disregard the "no simultaneous submissions" policy? I do and I've only had a problem with it once, at the Kenyon Review, when a story of mine had actually been submitted somewhere else and was taken before KR took it, but KR only wanted it for KROnline, so I felt I had some justification is telling them no, I didn't want it in KROnline. The other magazine was similarly respected to KR, so I don't feel I lost out. Perhaps KR won't read my stuff anymore, which would be a shame because I like that journal, but there are many great, similarly unread journals.

Can anyone report back about what Darin Strauss says about LROD. Just wondering.

Said he tangled with a troll and regretted it.
