As rejections go, this is a friendly one. The handwritten 'corrections' aren't really correcting anything. The highlighted word means "regrettably".

Judging by the marginalia, the recipient is offended by the directions to the listings of theater publishers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703861414547309188.post-2710488378670791602009-01-13T17:33:00.000-05:002009-01-13T17:33:00.000-05:00Is Ingoh Brux going to be male or female or one of...Is Ingoh Brux going to be male or female or one of those mysterious third gendered types I wonder?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703861414547309188.post-11625584546982109902009-01-12T15:19:00.000-05:002009-01-12T15:19:00.000-05:00I'm stealing the name "Ingoh Brux" for my next nov...I'm stealing the name "Ingoh Brux" for my next novel.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703861414547309188.post-41570781731251766232009-01-12T11:07:00.000-05:002009-01-12T11:07:00.000-05:00So, just another overly sensitive writer being kin...So, just another overly sensitive writer being kindly rejected? This would be the equivalent of a US publisher writing a personal note to say (however much a polite fiction) it's not in their budget, but why not try small presses, a listing of which you can find at ____. No snarkiness or attitude. The marginalia doesn't really match this -- the person may be imputing motive, but there's really nothing in the text that would give that impression.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
