The trouble i...I think O'Conner is only half right. The trouble is that universities stifle artistic, expressive writers, and encourage writers who have a strong drive to appear smart at all costs. The whole academic system has a value on the appearance of smartness and education and class instead of a value for honesty, expressiveness, and inspiration. O'Conner thinks the problem is that the universities should stifle more writers, but really they are just stifling the wrong ones.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
