Galleycat has a tedious month-by-month year in review of 2008. So tedious that July 2008 features this video of your friend and mine (plus a bonus song). That's not really news, is it? Also, is it me, or does he look entirely different in the video than he does in either of his photographs?
Also, on his blog there's a cute picture of twin baby boys. The caption says: "Darin gave birth to twins, not named Chang and Eng. Shepherd and Beau Strauss were born on October 29th, 2007." Not his wife? Seriously, though, I don't mean to bust on you, DS, you crazily talented guy, who can even pick the guitar and sing. I'm just joking around to improve all of our senses of humor in 2009.

If you really want to improve everyone's sense of humor in 2009, you may consider finding some new subjects and leaving the old ones behind. This just smacks of more passive-aggressive behavior, engineered to fan the flames and (God forbid) bring back the likes of our boy John Bruce. How about pretending that today -- January 5th -- is actually the New Year and, well, come up with something new?
Excellent idea! Can you send me some of your rejections so I have fresh material? I'm pretty much out of my back log (after two years of posting), and I'm working on a novel, which doesn't really leave much time for submitting the few stories I have left that are not yet published.
