On separate note: I saw someone mention in their creds
a contest won on a blog. Is this mentionable????? A blog writing contest, where the judge is the guy who has the blog and the blog is where he throws up his own florid writing. How can this possibly be (1) a good use of time; (2) helpful to your career path?
really? a blog contest? this was an author bio in a 'zine, not a real lit mag, right?
It was an author blurb on an agent's website where the author has a novel coming out next year.
The craft can be learnt; some basics techniques and such, but the voice only you can discover.
