Agent and former editor Betsy Lerner wrote a great guide to writing and getting published called "The Forest for the Trees." It's great and gossipy and very generous -- totally encouraging.
Does Noah Lukeman want to be a writer or an agent? He seems to spend an ordinate amount of time writing books on how other people should write (and in turn, selling his own books and promoting his own books). Does he spend anywhere near as much time promoting his clients or helping with their careers? Something tells me this guy would not go to bat for a client whose career needed help. it would take too much time away from his own writing.
