Funny, Becky. I myself (like my prose, according to your assessment) am also a "bit self-conscious at times" and "not always true to life." It's actually good you've "stepped aside" to make room for more interesting rejections.

Probably a kinder rejection than you deserved. You give us no reason to think that you're little more than a snarky reject.
WR Are you unaware that Becky has stepped down from her current job today as publisher at Houghton Harcourt? I think anonymous along with most of us may think you are posting this 6 yr-old rejection letter in response to today's news. I did know Becky for a time, and although you may not like this letter, I know her to be a great advocate for her authors.
To the last anonymous: Dude, I'm sure Becky is great. I'm sure she was a great advocate of her authors' works. No doubt at all. My point, here, is not to say bad things, but to air my dirty rejections. This is not today's news, at all. In fact, this is an old post, which came at the beginning of my blog (second week, in fact, June 13, 2007) when I was posting all of my past rejections, which was the origin of LROD. My goal was originally just to post my rejections and get a little relief and poke a little fun.
ah, okay - gee now I feel a bit self-conscious! Noticed the headline and didn't see the original date. Will make up for it by sending some juicy rejections in the future.

And who pray-tell are you? Betsy's protector?
I am just a snarky little reject. That much is true.
Oops, I meant Becky. My bad.
I don't know Becky. My reaction was based on what I saw on this page. You take pleasure in her misfortune but provide no evidence for joining in.
Wait...whose misfortune? I'm not following. Becky, you mean? Because she was misfortunate enough to reject me? Not sure what you mean by joining in.
Sorry, not taking your bait.

Suit yourself. I wasn't baiting, just trying to get clarification on your cryptic message. Don't really know what you're trying to say.

Please, please do. I would love some new juicy rejections to post!
