The New York Times recently ran
an article ("Rethinking Gender Bias in Theater") reporting on
an academic study that found discrimination in the theater community against female playwrights. I'm not sure why this would be a shock to anybody: you can count on one hand plays by women that make it to the big stage, and certainly the
people affected are well aware of
the problem. But it appears to be causing quite a stir. Other articles on the topic appear in
